If you find this contribution useful, or saved you some hours of development time, and if you desire send me a postcard :) or a geographic map( also used , it doesn't matter- I'm mad for World Geography!)
or the original author for the Contributions used. |
==========================
Attribute Suite v.1.2.3 is a combination of many of the most popular
mods/contributions for product attributes in osCommerce 2.2 MS2. The credit for the actual mods goes
solely to the original authors of those mods and the many people who update
them. The goal of Attribute Suite v.1.2.3 is to produce a more complete product attributes package with
many more features than standard osCommerce.
Contributions includes in Attribute Suite v.1.2.3
==========================
1. New Attribute Manager v.5.0
- added l multilanguage compatibility and zero prefix
2. Single Option - Attribute Manager v.1.0 added by me :) based on New Attribute Manager v.4b
3. Option Type Feature v.1.7.1
- removed textarea option type, added sort values, comments and links for every option type
4. Unique Attribute v.1.0
- add option type feature compatibility
5. Attribute Sorter and Copier v.6.0
- add option type feature compatibility / attribute sorting for all option types
6. Actual Atribute Price v.1.4.1
- removed some code to fix the price calculation when its value is $0 and added for all option types

==========================
What does this contribution do?
New Attribute Manager v.5.0
I didn't remove or edit the original attribute manager. After installation
my manager will appear in the navigation menu above "Products Attributes"
and will be listed as "*Attribute Manager".
*Added "edit attributes" button to the categories/product screen.
You add Options & Option Values using the original OS Commerce Attribute
Management, but use my manager to edit products.
Option Type Feature v.1.7.1
This contribution allows the use of various option types when setting up product attributes. With the current milestone of osCommerce, all options are displayed as select lists. This contribution specifically adds Text Options, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes . It is written so that it can be extended with other option types as well.
Unique Attributes v.1.0
You can add product options and option values in separatе pages. A unique name for attributes in admin, distinct from the display name
displayed in the catalog.
- A link (or comment) for each unique attribute. Links will pop up a small
window to provide a more detailed description of the option.
Attribute Sorter and Copier v.6.0
Allow you to copy attributes from:
1. Existing Product to Duplicate Product
2. Existing Product to Existing Product
3. Existing Product to ALL Products in a Category
Adds Option Values Sort Order so attribute option values are displayed in the same order regardless of how they are added (assuming non-0 sort order values set for each Option Value before adding Attributes to products).
- When adding a new option value to a product, if no sort_order is specified, the sort_order of the option_value is used.
Hide price if $0 v.2.0
This contribution is intended to hide the price from the catalog if no price has been entered, instead of showing a price of $0.00.
This may be of use if you want some items to be informational items only, such as services or to use your shop as a catalog only.

- BACK UP YOUR CATALOG AND DATABASE!
STEP 1.
Choose Installation Method
a) Overwrite and Run (easiest and recommended)
Install all the files in the package into your CLEAN version of osCommerce
IMPORTANT!!!
copy an paste the code from configure.php, NOT THE FILE. Must paste in /catalog
/includes/configure.php
//Attribute suite start
//unique attribute
define('DIR_WS_DETAILS', 'details/');
//unique attribute
// CLR 020605 defines needed for Product Option Type feature.
define('PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_TYPE_SELECT', 0);
define('PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_TYPE_TEXT', 1);
define('PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_TYPE_RADIO', 2);
define('PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_TYPE_CHECKBOX', 3);
define('TEXT_PREFIX', 'txt_');
define('PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_VALUE_TEXT_ID', 0); //Must match id for user defined "TEXT" value in db table TABLE_PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_VALUES
//Attribute suite end
Add new fields to db
ALTER TABLE products_options
ADD products_options_unique_name VARCHAR( 80 ) DEFAULT NULL ,
ADD products_options_type INT( 5 ) NOT NULL ,
ADD products_options_length SMALLINT( 2 ) DEFAULT '32' NOT NULL ,
ADD products_options_comment VARCHAR( 80 ) DEFAULT NULL ,
ADD products_options_link VARCHAR( 80 ) DEFAULT NULL ;
ALTER TABLE products_attributes
ADD products_options_sort_order int(6) NOT NULL default '0' AFTER price_prefix;
ALTER TABLE customers_basket_attributes
ADD products_options_value_text text ;
INSERT INTO products_options_values (products_options_values_id, language_id, products_options_values_name) VALUES (0, 1, 'TEXT');
INSERT INTO products_options_values (products_options_values_id, language_id, products_options_values_name) VALUES (0, 2, 'TEXT');
INSERT INTO products_options_values (products_options_values_id, language_id, products_options_values_name) VALUES (0, 3, 'TEXT');
ALTER TABLE products_options_values
ADD products_options_values_sort_order int(6) NOT NULL default '0' AFTER products_options_values_name;
b) Upgrading, Integrating or Custom Installations
If you are not using a clean osCommerce - MS2 installation then you must merge (*NOT* replace) the files and
- BACK UP YOUR CATALOG AND DATABASE!
All changes having (or are near) the original Author's comments and I enclosed them with
//Attribute suite start
.....
//Attribute suite end
and my changes or add-ons with //KIKOLEPPARD add or //KIKOLEPPARD change
I've made this installation mode because I don't want to change the original instructions(files) of Contributions (with my modifications on them) and I don't want to insult the authors :)
Update your database with attribute_suite.sql
Then the rest is from all the mods/contributions used in Attribute Suite v.1.2.3
Step b.1.1 - New Attribute Manager v.5.0
Step b.1.2 - Single Option - Attribute manager v.1.0
Step b.1.3 - Option Type Feature v.1.7.1
Step b.1.4 - Unique Attribute v.1.0
Step b.1.5 - Attribute Sorter and Copier v.6.0
Step b.1.6 - Actual Atribute Price v.1.4.1
Step b.1.7 - Hide price if $0 v.2.0
Step b.2
Second installation mode - manual installation of Attribute Suite v.1.2.1. My suggestions are to use this manual mode.
Recomendations: Always use a Merge program - WinMerge or Beyond Compare.
Go to the install instructions

ScottAnd special thanks for all the people who was taking part of the updates and bug fixing!!!
I saw a lot of contribution which can add a further functionality in this package. I'll appreciate all your helps, cleaning of code, standardization. updates, add-ons and ecc.
I think that some of these can be usefull and I'm sure that there will be others which I haven't seen.
Example:
1) Option Type Feature - read only, image options, textarea. I'm still working on quantity table but i have some problems using the Contribution - Attribute Qty Product Info
2) Product option of moltiplications
3) Better drop-down menu or search mode with categories and products for New Attribute Manager and Single Attribute Manager. For very charged shops there is a problem.
4) Better documentation :) Unfortunately the english isn't my best occidental language and I'll appreciate if somebody make language corrections in the documentation :)
If you make some modifications or add-on please, sharing them for all the osCommerce Community.
Please send me some feedback.. I don't care if you are criticizing
my work or letting me know how my package helped
you..etc. It's all welcome =)
You can also email me if you have trouble getting it set up... .
Post me if you have an intention to make some add-on. We can share our forces :).
